Deed Restrictions / Architectural Review Committee

Oakhurst at Kingwood is a deed restricted community. Please review the following information on these restrictions:
Since Oakhurst is a deed restricted community, all changes or additions to your home must be approved by the Architectural Review Committee. Complete the ARC form and submit it for approval at least 4 weeks prior to beginning your project.
The completed form should be mailed to:

All homeowners should have received a book at closing, outlining the homeowner association’s bylaws and guidelines. If you did not receive the book, deed restrictions can be found on the web site.

You must submit an Architectural Review Form for any additions or changes to your home. Swimming pools, playground structures, basketball goals, storage sheds, satellite dishes, temporary outdoor living areas, decks, patio covers, arbors, gazebos, driveway extensions, exterior lighting, are all examples of improvements that must be approved by the ARC. Basically, anything that is added or changes the appearance of your home in any way must be submitted. The repainting of your home also requires an ARC form to be submitted. The forms are available online or you can call Community Asset Management at 281-852-1155.

With each request for an addition or change to your property such as a pool, play structure, shed, arbor, deck, etc. an ARC request must be submitted along with a copy of the plot of your house showing where the item will be placed. If the addition/change is to be painted of require a roof, samples of the color and materials must be submitted with the application. All requests should clearly state the size of the item (length, width, & height) and what materials the structure will be constructed of. All requests are to be mailed to our management company; Community Asset Management…they will then forward to the Architectural Review Committee. The ARC will approve or reject the application as quickly as possible and Community Asset Management will reply to you with a letter. If your proposal is rejected, the letter will clearly state the reasons for the rejection.

If you ever have any questions concerning the completion of an application, guidelines on what is or is not an approvable project, or anything else, please contact Community Asset Management at 281-852-1155
